Make sure to get registered on Saturday afternoon and join us that Saturday evening for the welcome reception to be held at the Rock Bottom, only 1 1⁄2 blocks from our hotel. With drinks and appetizers, you’ll enjoy a great time with members and vendors. This is an informal event.

John Janedis

John Janedis, is a vice president and a research analyst in the Equity Research Department at Banc of America Securities LLC, where he covers the Publishing and Internet Media sectors. Institutional Investor named Janedis a member of the “Best of the Next Generation of Analysts” in 2004 for his coverage of the Publishing and Advertising Agencies sector. John will be talking to us about the Media Analyst Role, industry trends and analysis, and his thoughts as to where the industry is headed.

Spouses and Guests can enjoy a chauffeured trip to the Historic Latta Plantation, you’ll be taking a tour of a living history farm where a successful cotton plantation was run dating back to the early 19th century. Only a short distance away is the Raptor Center, the Southeast’s largest aviary. Here you can tour and learn about the process of rehabilitating some of our nations rarest birds. From there it’s off to a relaxing lunch and some shopping at Birkdale Village.

Bob Blodgett, First Data, is an expert panelist who will help us understand the ins and outs of credit card processing. His focus will be on breaking down the fee structure and giving us ideas as to how to control the fees. He will be available to answer questions and share ideas about payment processing in general.

The Details

Hotel Reservations

Please reserve your accommodations as early as possible with the Charlotte Marriott City Center. The hotel reservation cutoff date is September 23, 2005. In order to get the AMCEA group rate of $131 (single/double), please identify yourself as an AMCEA member. This rate will be honored 2 days prior and 2 days after conference dates. Reservations can be made by calling the hotel directly at  1.704.333.9000. You can refer to the hotel website at http://www.marriottcitycenter.com for additional details.

Directions/Fares

Hotel is approximately 9 miles Northeast of the airport.

Take Billy Graham Parkway South to I-77. Follow I-77 North. Off I-77, take exit 10 (Trade Street). At stop light turn right onto Trade Street. Go 1 mile and hotel is on the left.

From I-85 - Take I-77 South. Take Exit 10B (Trade Street East). Follow Trade St into city and
hotel entrance is on the left.

Bus service, fee: $16 (one way)
Estimated taxi fare: $15 (one way)

Dress

The weather in Charlotte will be pleasant with average high temperatures at 72 degrees, but it does get cool at night. Bring business casual clothes for scheduled meetings. The Wednesday night president’s dinner will be semi-formal. No tuxedos will be required.
